- 1 Cup water
- 1 Cup agave nectar
- 1 Hatch chile, fresh
- Wash and dry one fresh Hatch chile. Remove the stem, seeds, and membrane. Roughly chop.
- In a medium saucepan, bring water and agave nectar to a boil, then reduce heat to a low simmer for 5 minutes.
- Add chiles and agave syrup to a sealable container and let infuse in the refrigerator for 48 hours.
- Strain the chiles, and store in a container in the refrigerator for up to one month.
When substituting agave simple syrup for regular simple syrup, use 1/2 the called for amount.
