Fried Hatch Pepper Matchsticks

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together flour, paprika, onion powder, and salt. Add black pepper to taste.
  2. In a second bowl, whisk together milk and egg.
  3. Dip each Hatch Pepper strip into egg wash, then into flour mixture.
  4. In a large skillet, heat about 1" vegetable oil over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, fry about half of the strips until they're golden (about 2 minutes). Remove strips from oil and rest on a paper towel-lined plate. Repeat with remaining strips.
  5. Serve with ranch dipping sauce.
