Tony Packo's Cafe was a child of the great depression. It was 1932 when Tony Packo Sr, and his wife Rose were young, jobless and the parents of two young children. Rose knew how to make a mean spicy chili and Tony could tend bar. Besides that, Tony had a great idea - take a smoked sausage, slice it in half and put in a bun with a hearty beef sauce - charge a nickel and call it a Tony Packo Hungarian Hot Dog. Rose's chili was the perfect partner to Tony's dogs, and soon two dogs and a chili became the cry behind the food counter at their corner restaurant. The tradition lives on!
