Masks/Facial Covering in Central Market Stores Effective Monday, March 2nd

Although there is no longer a statewide mask order, Central Market and H-E-B believe it is important that masks be worn in public spaces until more Texans and our Partners have access to the Covid-19 vaccine. As an essential service provider during the pandemic, Central Market and H-E-B will still require all our Partners and vendors to wear masks while at work. Central Market and H-E-B are focused on the health and safety of our Partners and customers, and we urge all customers to please wear a mask when in our stores.

OUR STORES

At Central Market stores, we are going above and beyond our already strict protocols to sanitize our stores to create a safer shopping experience.

  • Central Market stores are thoroughly sanitized daily and hard surfaces are sanitized at a high frequency throughout the day.
  • Customers can find hand sanitizer available throughout our stores, as well as basket wipes at every entrance.
  • We have a dedicated team of Partners and COVID Action Managers in each store to ensure sanitization of carts & baskets, and social distancing practices are being followed. (See more below.)
  • The wearing of masks and/or facial coverings is proven to slow the spread of COVID-19.  Central Market will continue to require the use of masks in our stores for all Partners and vendors. We ask all customers to please wear a mask in our stores.

  • Curbside and Delivery Services are available as alternative shopping methods for customers who prefer to not wear a mask for reasons unrelated to a health condition.

In addition to monitoring store sanitization, our COVID Action Team is responsible for seeing that our social distancing programs are properly followed. We’ve continued to expand and strengthen our social distancing protocols, which include signs and floor markers encouraging distancing, installing sanitation shields at checkout, and metering store entry when necessary.

CURBSIDE AND DELIVERY

We are taking the following measures to maintain this as a convenient service with minimized points of contact.

  • Signatures will no longer be required on pickup orders.
  • Partners will distance themselves from the driver’s side door, or approach from the passenger side whenever possible.
  • We apologize, but we are temporarily unable to support the use of reusable bags. We hope to offer this option again soon.

We are taking the following measures to maintain this as a convenient service with minimized points of contact.

  • An option for ‘doorstep drop’ delivery
  • Delivery orders containing alcohol will not require customers to provide a signature. IDs will be scanned or keyed at a safe distance.

If an item in your order is out of stock, we will do our best to substitute it with a similar item close in size and price. If you prefer to not receive a substitution item, please make sure to select “No” in the Substitutions module in your cart.

OUR COMMUNITY

Our Partners are the heart of everything we do at Central Market. We want to help them take extra care of themselves and their families so they can take better care of you, our customers.

  • We are equipping our Partners with the best and most current information so that they can make informed decisions for their families.
  • We have increased resources for our Partners to improve their wellness practices, and if they do not feel well, we encourage them to stay home under our extended medical leave.
  • Additionally, the company has eliminated all business-related air travel both domestically and internationally for Central Market Partners until further notice.
  • H-E-B gives $3 million for coronavirus community support

As a state, we can help slow the spread of coronavirus by working together as a community. There are everyday preventative measures and practices we can all employ to stay healthy, and help prevent the flu and other viral infections.

  • Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
  • Do not touch your eyes, nose or mouth with unclean hands.
  • Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze.
  • At home and at work, clean frequently touched surfaces.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Stay home if you are sick.
  • Rest assured, according to the CDC, the coronavirus is not related to any food products.
