About the Chef

Jess Pryles is a live fire cook, author, meat expert and a professional Hardcore Carnivore. She has a particular passion for beef and meat science and is a respected authority on Texas-style barbecue. Born in Australia, she now lives in Austin. In addition to being a maven of all things meaty, Jess is a co-founder of the Australasian Barbecue Alliance and the creator of the internationally-acclaimed line of meat seasonings, Hardcore Carnivore®.

About the Class

Learn to grill a steak to perfection during this LIVE, ONLINE class. You’ll have the opportunity to pick up tips from Jess Pryles as she discusses three cuts of meat that are suitable for the grill; shows you how to create a tasty side salad; reviews grilling basics; and then introduces you to her preferred method of producing a tender, juicy, flavorful piece of beef. About the Chef

Texas native Tiffany Derry began her culinary career at the age of fifteen and developed a deep appreciation for different cultures and cuisines while abroad. Named by the Dallas Morning News as one of the “Best Chefs in DFW,” Tiffany opened her restaurant Private|Social in 2010 and founded Tiffany Derry Concepts, Inc. in 2013. Tiffany appeared on Season 7 of Bravo’s Top Chef where she was voted “fan favorite” and placed in the final four. Derry was again a finalist on Top Chef: All-Stars. In addition, Derry is a member of Les Dames d’Escoffier, is on the Board of Directors of Food Policy Action, and has recently been appointed spokesperson for Sustainability Efforts at The James Beard Foundation.

About the Class

During this LIVE, ONLINE cooking class, you’ll learn to cook a crispy bird with no extra oil and pick up tips from celebrity chef and restaurateur, Tiffany Derry. As you cook along with her, Chef Derry will show you how to make a perfectly crunchy and incredibly tasty chicken breast, a quick vegetable dish, and a pan sauce. Dinner will be ready by the end of class.

About the Chef

Marcus Samuelsson is the acclaimed chef behind many restaurants worldwide, including Red Rooster Harlem, Red Rooster Overtown in Miami, FL, and Marcus B&P in Newark, NJ. Samuelsson was the youngest person to ever receive a three-star review from The New York Times, has won multiple James Beard Foundation Awards, and is a longstanding judge on the hit Food Network show Chopped. He is the author of multiple books including The New York Times bestselling memoir Yes, Chef and his latest book, The Rise: Black Cooks and the Soul of American Food. Chef Samuelsson’s podcast, This Moment, with Swedish rapper Timbuktu is out now.

About the Class

During this one hour, live, online class, you’ll spend virtual time with the acclaimed Chef Marcus Samuelsson, who will teach you to make a simple but delicious meal. While your chicken is roasting in the oven, the Chef will discuss his inspiration for The Rise, his newly released cookbook, and some of the talented Black chefs who are featured in it. Chef Samuelsson will then show you how to create the chickpea and couscous side dish. By the end of our time together, your dinner can be served.

About the chef

Classically trained in French, Mediterranean, West Indian, and East African cuisines, Chef Chris Williams has made a name for himself serving up well-refined Southern food with international infusions at his nationally-acclaimed restaurant Lucille’s. Chef Williams has served as the lone culinary cultural ambassador for the U.S. for three years, advancing food diplomacy. He is also a member of the Southern Food Ways Alliance, an organization that documents, studies, and explores the diverse food cultures of the changing American South. Chef Williams most recent endeavor — his newly-formed non-profit Lucille’s 1913 — is a conscious community collective that combats food insecurity and food waste while creating training and employment opportunities that empower communities to discover a self-sustainable livelihood through food.
