Easter for Everyone

Maybe you’re in the camp that brings down grandma’s wedding china and irons the tablecloth. Or maybe you’re Team Picnic and head to the beach or park with a bag of charcoal, your favorite tunes, and several car loads of your favorite people. Or maybe Easter is all about having friends over for an epic brunch with bottomless mimosas. Whatever camp you’re in, this week we’ll bring you Easter ideas that are sure to make it a meal to remember.

Traditional Tastes
First up? Ideas for those of you who host classic Easter celebrations with traditional tastes. All of our Easter dress, linens pressed, formal dinner families: these are for you!

Main Event
It’s the crown jewel of your perfectly set dinner table! Here are three show-stopping options from our Market that you’ll be proud to gather the family around.

Fire-Glazed Bone-In Spiral Sliced Ham in Hickory Smoked or Honey Cured
Natural Semi-Boneless Leg of Lamb
Natural Angus Beef Boneless Ribeye Steaks

You can’t go wrong here. All will present a special occasion mood and be an incredible level of quality you simply won’t find anywhere else. Surround them with a variety of classic sides, pour the wine, and enjoy the day!

Sides
Fill up all those fancy serving dishes with sides worthy of the occasion. Let our chefs make something for you (Chef Prepared sides are restaurant-quality and let you serve a variety of dishes without spending days and days prepping), or be your own chef with some Central Market approved recipes. And be sure to remember soft, fluffy, buttery Brioche Dinner Rolls from our Bakery. Warmed with butter…oh my goodness, the Easter Bunny could bring these instead of chocolate, and I’d be happy!

Potatoes
Whether your main is ham, lamb or thick steaks, potatoes are a must. Keep it simple with Roasted Baby Potatoes. Or add some extra flair to the table and serve Gruyere Potato Gratin. Our expert cheesemongers can help you select a nutty gruyere perfect for this recipe.
Suggestion: Le Superbe Gruyere AOP Selection
Made from raw cow’s milk and aged at least 9 months for a spicy, mature taste with overtones of roasted hazelnuts.

Or keep it extra easy and always delicious with our Chef Prepared Twice Baked Potatoes.
Available with or without bacon, but always plenty of cheese, these bakers are ready to heat and eat, leaving you with more time to nibble the ears off that chocolate bunny you hid behind the oatmeal.

Asparagus
You wouldn’t dream of gathering the fam around an Easter meal that didn’t include the official vegetable of spring: asparagus. We get it. We love it, too – all bright and earthy — which is why we have several asparagus recipes for you on our site. Here are a few of our favorites:

Asparagus with Prosciutto and Pine Nuts
Pick up Tanara 20 Month Sliced Prosciutto Di Parma from the deli for this recipe. We like to call it the king of Italian dry cured hams! It is velvety smooth and has a mild, delicate flavor. It’s ready-to-eat so feel free to snack while you cook.

Levoni Smoked Prosciutto Cotto is another gold standard Italian pork with a sweet, delicate, balanced flavor. This one’s a Central Market exclusive.

Sauteed Asparagus with Lemon Dill Butter – Lemon and asparagus are BFFs, making this dish a real winner.

Roasted Asparagus with Feta. Recipes that include cheese automatically go to the top of the list. And if you aren’t looking for more ways to include salty, crumbly Feta in your menus, you’re totally missing out.

Wine
After wearing yourself out hiding and re-hiding Easter eggs and corralling the kiddos to get that perfect photo for your Christmas card before grass stains and chocolate smears appear, relax with a glass of wine. You’ve earned it. Cheers to family …and to finding that Easter egg you hid a little too well — sometime in August.

Priest Ranch Napa Cabernet
This historic property produces a Cabernet that is robust, intensely rich, and packed with flavors of dark berries, black currants, and plums. And if you’re into ratings, this one is rated 91 points by Robert Parker!

Chaos and Harmony Sauvignon Blanc
This is the ideal Sauvignon Blanc for spring menus. It is crisp and refreshing, with notes of grapefruit, kiwi, lychee and a lingering finish.

Floral
Spring flowers are a must at Easter. And my strategy is basically tulips everywhere. They’re like the brightly colored Easter eggs of flowers. They smell amazing and need no special arranging to look amazing.

Dessert
Your special day needs a stunner of a dessert. Have you SEEN the cakes our amazing bakers create? Look for Hummingbird Cake – moist and layered with pineapple, pecans, and bananas, then spiced with cinnamon and iced with our sweet cream cheese icing and decorated with pecans. Or make one yourself using the Extra Large Gold Pineapples you’ll find in our produce department. They are the world’s sweetest pineapple and have up to four times the amount of vitamin C as traditional pineapples, so your cake is basically a vitamin…slathered in cream cheese frosting.

However you celebrate, Central Market has the food, drink, and expert advice to make your gathering extra special. Come visit and let us help you create an Easter to remember!
