Build A Better BLT

Bacon. Lettuce. Tomato. Pile them together and you get one of the world's greatest sandwiches: the BLT. It is a classic. An icon. A combination certainly worth celebrating. So join us today through March 21 as we bring out the bacon, put on our sandwich architect hats, and craft towering BLT masterpieces

We have more than 80 varieties of bacon in-store for you to explore — think about how many BLT combinations you can create! Goodness. I think I’m getting dizzy from excitement just thinking about all that sizzling bacon piling up on toasty, buttered bread.

To kick it all off, though, let’s stick with basics: The can’t-miss, classic BLT. Here’s your blueprint for building it better:

All-American BLT
Central Market Old Fashioned Split-Top White or 100% Whole Wheat Bread, lightly toasted
Duke’s Real Mayonnaise
Burgers’ Smokehouse Applewood Bacon Steaks or Central Market All Natural Uncured Hickory Bacon
Iceberg or Romaine Lettuce, thinly sliced
Ripe Tomatoes-on-the-Vine, cored and sliced, lightly seasoned with salt and freshly ground pepper

Now for bacon perfection… For each sandwich in this recipe collection, we recommend cooking the bacon to medium doneness for a softer bite, but if you love crisp bacon, cook to your heart’s content and enjoy!

Oven Method – lay slices of bacon flat on top of a rack or on a parchment lined sheet pan. Place pan in upper two-thirds of a 375°F oven. Roast 10 to 15 minutes.
Microwave Oven – lay 4 to 5 slices of bacon in a single layer atop a few sheets of paper towel on a microwave safe dish. Cover with a few more sheets of paper towel. Microwave on high for 4 to 5 minutes or 1 minute per slice. Flip Bacon and continue cooking 1 minute at a time to desired doneness.
Stovetop Method – heat a large skillet over medium heat. Place bacon in a single layer without overcrowding to avoid steaming rather than frying. Cook 4 to 5 minutes per side.
