Don’t Labor (Day) in the Kitchen

Add to Favorites

Labor Day celebrates all of the workers who have built this country and keep it rolling. What better way to honor all of that, well, labor, than with a day spent eating, hanging out, and engaged in general goofing off? This is my kind of holiday!

And since we all labor plenty day-to-day, let's not labor in the kitchen on Monday when Central Market can make it really easy for us to just focus on the important work of goofing off.

Chill the Rosé
First things first, right? Let's talk wine. You know rosé wines were MADE for days like this. Relax with family and friends — or enjoy the amazing quiet of some well-deserved alone time — with a glass of one of our most popular summer pinks, try Mimi En Provence, Jolie Folle, or La Galope as starters, all are on sale this week.

All You Have to do Is Eat
Don't feel like cooking a single thing? No problem. Simply buy 1 lb. of Chef Prepared Chicken Salad and toss 3 Croissants in your bag for free! Super easy (and tasty) way to feed your guests. And free. Free is excellent.

Make Veggies and Crackers Happy
Set these winners out and you may notice guests spending a lot of time standing around the snack table.

Bertozzi Gran Festa Ricotta Cheese Spreads
Your party needs the world’s first spreadable Italian cheese. It's made with freshly ground spices and crisp vegetables, and is a fabulously light and airy texture. We brought it in from Italy's Bertozzi Creamery, a family-owned dairy that first opened its doors in 1901. You'll only find it at Central Market!

Abraham's Hummos
Another Central Market exclusive in Texas. You can thank Louis Fellman for this delicious dip. He started serving healthy Middle Eastern food to happy folks in New Jersey in 1987, and has been using the finest ingredients to make oil- and preservative-free hummos in small batches ever since.

Can't Forget the Fruit Pies
Pies make a party a party. Served with ice cream or coffee (or both), classic fruit pies step things up in the dessert department. And if you want to throw a little flour on the crust (and on your nose) and tell your guests they're your grandma's recipes, that's ok. Your secret's safe with us.

Enjoy a labor-free holiday with a little help from Central Market!
