I scooped up one of the last 3 containers of queso for the day. Whew! I hope you all enjoyed it as much as we did. Besides dipping Hatch flavored Primizie Crispbreads in it poolside, we also used it to dip pizza crusts, celery sticks, chicken, Hatch Pepper Tortillas, and salad.
Yah, it was that kind of week. No rules and lots of cheese!
Speaking of cheese, Hatch Cheese Puffs and Hatch Puppies also made an appearance in all their browned, buttery, crispy, Hatchy, cheesey glory. This was about the time the grill was fired up, the Central Market Bock Beer Bratwursts and Seafood Burgers tossed on, and the margaritas refilled. It’s a wonder we ever left the house, honestly.
Oh, wait. We didn’t leave the house.
We watched some of the Olympics with all these athletes and their chiseled bodies…while we wondered if there were any Hatch Puppies left. Then we went to bed. Did someone say Nap-A-Palooza?
Hey, all that eating and swimming can tire a girl out. Plus, we needed to rest up…for breakfast: there was a Central Market Spinach and Mushroom Quiche with Hatch Pepper Jack Cheese in the fridge!
The weekend was a wild success (we did eventually leave the house), and I got a text this morning from my sister, lamenting the fact they don’t have Hatch Chile Con Queso back home in Indiana. But you have it right here in Texas, so get on over to Central Market and scoop some up for your own pool/patio/couch Hatch-A-Palooza.
Just don’t wait until the end of the day — we might have to arm wrestle for it.
