Central Market Sheet Cake

Ingredients

  • 6 tbsp milk
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup pecans chopped
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 lb confectioners’ sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 8 tbsp cocoa
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 sticks butter
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 cups flour

Instructions

  1. Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9 1/2 x 13-inch pan.
Cake
  1. Bring 2 sticks butter, water and 4 tablespoons cocoa to a boil.
  2. Remove from heat and add flour, granulated sugar and salt. Beat in eggs, sour cream and baking soda.
  3. Pour into greased pan and bake for 40 minutes.
Frosting
  1. In the same pan, bring 1 stick butter to a boil with remaining 4 tablespoons cocoa and milk. Remove from heat and add confectioners' sugar, vanilla and nuts.
  2. Spread on hot cake.
